 History & Philosophy

Architecture is a serious way of thinking about how to optimize design technology and the ‘art-form’ of construction. Client inputs can range from aesthetic, economic, functional or now, a ‘green-criteria’. LEED certification, the IRC and IBC are things that I have interest in, know about and have experience in applying to a project. The CSI, AIA & SPNEA represent some of the professional organization with which I have associated.

 

Revit, AutoCAD-3D, Archicad, Auto-Sketch and my great sketching ability represent the range of graphic communications, I have used. I am also familiar with Adobe software including Photoshop having taken course work at the Boston Architectural Center to include the Mac. I attended, did my thesis and taught at the BAC until 1985.

 

My work has taken me from Maine down the East Coast as far as Florida. I have served the community of Virginia in code enforcement, given talks on engineering and computer software, as well as a session with lateral bracing in accordance with the IBC & IRC codes, for a third party inspection group. In New England, I qualified for the ARE (NCARB), being licensed initially in the State of Maine. NCARB certification pending.
